Worley signs EPC contract for the next expansion of Venture Global's CP2 LNG terminal in Louisiana

Australian contractor Worley will handle engineering, procurement and construction for the CP2 Expansion in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, under a cost-reimbursable deal with Venture Global. Venture Global hopes to reach its final investment decision in the first months of 2027.

Worley announced the award on Nov. 4. It is the company's third major package at the same site: Worley already holds the EPC contracts for CP2's first two phases, and it has done early engineering on the expansion under a master services agreement. Neither company gave a contract value. Worley said offices in Houston, Baton Rouge and Reading will lead the work, backed by its global delivery team.

Venture Global's January filing on the Phase 2 contract shows how these deals are built. Worley gets its costs back plus a markup covering overhead and profit, measured against a target price that moves only in limited cases, and it can earn bonuses for meeting schedule targets tied to commissioning. Some costs are excluded and stay with Worley. Terms for the expansion contract have not been published.

CP2 covers about 1,150 acres beside the company's Calcasieu Pass plant. Phase 1, rated at 14.4 million tonnes a year, reached a $15.1 billion investment decision in the summer of 2025, and Phase 2 adds 5.6 million tonnes, Construction Owners reported in February. Venture Global says the finished terminal should export more than 29 million tonnes a year, with room to grow. The size and price of the expansion have not been disclosed.

Why it matters: If Venture Global commits the money in early 2027, CP2 becomes a third straight EPC package on one Cameron Parish site. Pipe fabricators and civil and electrical subs already working Phases 1 and 2 for Worley should get in front of its buyers before that decision.
